Denim Collection Finial Project

It's been another great semester at PCC, I have learnt lot. Here's my FASH111B final project----denim collection, I've alway dreamed to become a denim designer, now I am so proud of myself that I have learn a lot and I am on my to be a denim designer. Los Angeles is the capital of Premier Denim, there are lot of premium denims are producing here like Paige, 7 for all Mankind, J Brand, Current Elliot, I feel so lucky that I'll have more opportunities to be part of the this industry.

When previewing the spring/summer2011 collections from some of the best premium and contemporary denim designer, it was exciting to see that 70‛s inspired trends are going to be making it to the floors of the best stores not only in the USA but internationally.Collection after collection there were pieces that reminded us of the hip cool times of 70‛s. For women it‛s about color and fit and for men it‛s all key pieces with bleached out color. 70‛S inspired color is all about light bleached out colors. CofH kept the color nice and light with a bleached out color yet kept it classic and modern with fits that any man can wear in 2011.

The year in fashion 2010

Two designers defined the second half of 2010, and they each gave very different performances. Tom Ford went for mystery with his no-photos-please womenswear presentation in September, while Alber Elbaz was suddenly everywhere. He finally opened a Lanvin shop on Madison Avenue, threw a Halloween rager there complete with a Champagne fountain and dueling drag queens, and then provoked near riots around the world with his smash hit Lanvin for H&M launch. Next thing you know, he'll be showing up at Art Basel

Jason Wu Pre fall collection 2011

Jason Wu's second pre fall collection is more than twice the size of his first. The palette was moodier than Spring's.

Miss Wu bag launched for Spring and adding on two new sizes: A Miss Wu large and A Miss Wu Mini. The Mini Wu, a tiny cross-body bag, will also come in a deluxe version in python and rose god.

Spring 2011 Women's Denim Fashion Trend

Spring 2011, designers delved deep into the functional fabric for this season. From Stella McCartney to Derek Lam( who channeled the 70s California cool vibe with a pair of wide legged trousers), jeans were a sure bet for the season.

Whichever you choose,making a pleasant entry in Spring 2011 denim fashion trend for women are denim blazers, denim medium short skirts, long skirts, denim wide leg pants, classic cut denim jeans, denim medium shorts, denim shirts, denim detailing and lots more styles. Make it the season's go-to piece.

Spring 2011 Beauty

Big hair and glam makeup are the way to channel the seventies. At Fendi, Karl Lagerfield paid an entirely different homage to the era. Karl wanted a strong color statement. He liked the variations of bright corals and vivid pinks.

Valentino for GAP Releases

Valentino for GAP collection finally hit GAP London's flagship, The seven piece collection consists of a hooded parka, skirt, cropped jacket, cargo pants, short ruffle jacket, T-shirt and hoodie.The collection will only be available at selected stores in Europe, which is a good or bad thing depending upon how you feel about military-meets-ruffles.

Happy Lanvin for H&M collection unveiling day! It seems that since the collaboration was announced in September, fashionistas have been frothing at the mouth, eagerly awaiting a look at Alber Elbaz's mass-market designs. And now, the magical day has come. Check out some images from the look book (with prices from The Cut) and the video preview below. The actual duds hit stores November 20.

Fashion and Architecture

In recent years, connections between fashion and architecture have become increasingly apparent. Both garments and buildings protect and shelter the body while providing a means to express identity. Fashion and architecture is the use of geometry to generate form.Designers in both fields have recently begun to develop structural skins that incorporate the bones, or structure, into the surface of a building or a garment. In recent years, architects have adopted techniques such as printing, pleating, folding, draping, and weaving to develop more complex exterior surfaces, or skins, for their buildings while fashion designers have looked to architecture for ways to construct clothes with greater volume and inherent structural integrity.

I have been working on the project of Dress design for Shabby Apple Dresses for two weeks; it was fun, exciting and creative. I did the target customer research, I think it’s very important for me to know who I am design for before I start the project, then I researched the spring 2011 fashion and color trend, I think the current fashion trends that could apply to Shabby Apple dress design. I looked the spring 2011 runway shows and other brands with strong styles.

For the design inspiration, the move "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" inspired me; I love this movie because there are great dresses in it. Finally I decided my light weight dotted swiss fabric and start to sketch…
It was very good experience design the dress for Shabby Apple, I really appreciate the opportunity the company offered to everyone who loves to design and someone who has the passion for design.

LA International Textile Show 2010

I went to LA International Textile Show, it's the most exciting marketplace for fashion products, apparel, home furnishing textiles, and sourcing. In the show more than 200 fashion & interior designers showcased their designs. The LA Textile Show also includes fashion business seminars for those people who are interested to know about fashion. This show focused mainly on fashion fabrics and trims. More than 200 mills and agents came to participate in the show.

Fashion Projects

Attached is my Spring semester fashion projects, I really liked the works I have been done. I think I am ready to put these projects into my profolio. And I will show these projects to the company I going to interview for.

I am really glad that I am taking the fashion class at PCC, lots of works, but it's fun and interesting, and I have some projects ready to show at the end of semester... will continue take the courses at PCC and try my best to improve my skill.

Movie "Sex and the City 2"

I love the sex and the city show! And I am loving the movies as well!! It made me laugh... made me cry...made me sad... made me excited... and the most impotent thing is I love their clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories. I love these women, Identify with all of them on some level...
